Few games can compare to what this title will mean to a certain few…

The new Medal of Honor is slated for a Fall release.  And comes to no surprise to many FPS enthusiasts that this long running franchise has hit ‘modern warfare’ for their next romp into, what is to become their next attempt to go above and beyond the competition.  But what do the folks of the MOH team have to offer that’s different from its more established Call of Duty counter part?  How about a change of scenery?

Many gamers to this day have no idea that Operation Enduring Freedom has been going on since 2001, or the past 9 years.  The tug-of-war struggle between NATO and Al-Qaeda aided Taliban forces rages on and continues to evolve every day.  Where NATO (Namely the US) takes ground the Taliban will only shift its stance and exploit other weak points in the Alliance war machine.  Where the war leaves one province only to plague another, the Afghanistan theater of operations has served to be the toughest fight the U.S. and its NATO allies has faced in this century; not Iraq.

This is what this next Medal of Honor title seeks to illustrate through the use of a fictional SOF (Special Operations Force) Team called: Tier 1.  For the Military Veteran gamer who has served in Afghanistan, the familiar look of the Tier 1 soldier is eye catching, eerie and powerful.  The authenticity of real-world combat scenarios from the trailer alone only goes to show the time spent to capture the gritty reality of combat in Afghanistan.  From the various kinds of IEDs (improvised explosive devices) responsible for many of the casualties suffered by U.S. Forces to the spatter of the dirt from RPK fire and the splinter a mud-hut door when it’s kicked in during a cordon and search, the MOH team has outdone itself with their attention to detail.

Though Call of Duty: Black Ops may be hard competition for Medal of Honor this year.  It goes without saying that there will be many military professionals from Infantry soldier to SOF Operator that will definitely be keeping on eye on this title.

Happy Late Memorial Day 2-4 Infantry and Veterans of Operation Anaconda (We saved your asses Cannucks!); Helmand Province, Khandahar Province, Mizan Province, and Panjewae.
